What are Marble and Travertine?

Marble and travertine are two classic examples of the natural stone world. Both are carbon-calcium-lithium sedimentary rocks; however, their formations, textures, and uses are quite different. Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by the recrystallization of limestone under high temperatures and pressures. Travertine, on the other hand, is a sedimentary rock formed by the hardening of carbonate deposited around hot water cycles.

Onyx Stone:

Onyx is a translucent stone with a unique natural appearance. It forms from the slow accumulation of calcite minerals in groundwater. This unique process gives life to the stone's layered and wavy patterns, as well as its translucent structure. At Tunamarble, we offer high-quality blocks in various hues—white, green, honey, brown, and blue—under the Onyx Collection for exclusive projects.
Properties of Onyx Stone Light Transmission The most striking feature of Onyx stone is its ability to transmit light, creating a soft glow. This creates a dramatic atmosphere, especially in interior spaces. When combined with lighting, the stone transforms into a living work of art. Color and Veining In nature, each Onyx block has different colors and veining. This uniqueness makes each design unique. Honey Onyx, Green Onyx, and White Onyx are among the most aesthetically pleasing types.
